WHO IS PRINCE HARRY?
He was born in London, England, on September 15, 1984, Prince Henry of Wales, also known as Prince Harry, is the second son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Princess Diana. He’s currently fifth in line to the England throne, behind his father, older brother William and William’s two children.
His mother once described Prince Harry as “very artistic and sporty”. At an early age, he developed an interest in riding and hunting. While the family lived in Kensington Palace during the week, they often spent the weekends at Highgrove house, their family estate in Gloucestershire. Their mother strove to give both her sons “as normal a life as possible ” despite their privileged position in British society. To this end, Prince Harry attended Mrs. Mynors’ nursery school in London’s Nothing Hill neighborhood. Princess Diana also took Prince Harry and His brother to amusement parks, fast food restaurants and other places frequented by other children their age.
In 1989, Prince Harry enrolled at the Wetherby School, where his older brother William was already a student. He then followed his brother to the Ludgrove School, a boarding school in Berkshire, in 1992. Around this time, he was reportedly informed of his parents’ impending separation, which was officially announced that December. The couple divorced in 1996.
After the separation, Prince Harry and Prince William spent their school holidays dividing their time between their parents. They spent time at Highgrove with their father, enjoying outdoor pursuits, as well as going on official trips and vacations abroad. With their mother, they engaged in a variety of activities from going on tropical holidays to visiting AIDS clinics and homeless shelters.
After enduring the death of his mother in 1997, he occasionally acted out and found himself in the tabloids for embarrassing events. Prince Harry embarked on a decade-long stint in the military in 2005, seeing active service time in Afghanistan, and is involved in numerous charitable causes.
In 2003, Prince Harry graduated from Eton. He spent some time traveling through Australia, Argentina and Africa after finishing school. An avid polo player, Prince Harry participated in the Young England versus Young Australia Polo Match Test in Australia. He became involved in charity work while visiting Lesotho in southern Africa, working at a home for orphans of AIDS victims. To promote awareness of the problems there, he created a documentary called The Forgotten Kingdom: Prince Harry in Lesotho. The film helped raise approximately $2 million for the British Red Cross Lesotho Fund.
WHO IS MEGHAN MARKLE?
Meghan Markle was born on August 4, 1981, in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Doria Loyce Ragland, a social worker and yoga instructor, lives in View Park–Windsor Hills, California. Her father, Thomas Markle Sr., who lives in Rosarito, Mexico, is a Daytime Emmy Award winning retired lighting director, whose profession resulted in his young daughter often visiting the set of Married… with Children. Markle’s parents divorced when she was six years old. She has two older paternal half-siblings, Thomas Markle Jr. and Samantha Grant. Meghan Markle pursued a career as a screen actress, appearing in a number of TV series before landing the recurring role of Rachel Zane on the USA Network show Suits.
Markle grew up in Hollywood. She was educated at private schools, beginning at Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse. At age 11, her successful campaign to get a company to change a national television commercial she viewed as sexist was profiled by Linda Ellerbee on Nick News.
From 2014 to 2017, Markle was founder and editor-in-chief of lifestyle website The Tig. She derived the name from the Tignanello red wine. One of the Tig features was Tig Talk. Some of the women profiled in this column were Jessica Alba, Gail Simmons, Ella Woodward, Daphne Oz, Elizabeth Hurley, Lauren Bush Lauren, Ivanka Trump, Dianna Agron and Jessica Stam. In April 2017, she closed The Tig.
THEIR LOVE STORY
According to Wikipedia ”The two met while Harry was attending the Invictus Games in Toronto, where Suits is filmed. Much speculation ensued about the direction of their romance, with Markle becoming the most Googled actress of 2016 as a result of the relationship. Yet some of the scrutiny was toxic, with Kensington Palace issuing a statement calling for the couple’s privacy to be respected and pointing out the indecency of racist and sexist online trolling directed at the actress”.
On November 27, 2017, Markle and Prince Harry revealed that they had secretly gotten engaged earlier in the month. Among the congratulatory messages, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, said, “It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”
A few weeks later, Kensington Palace announced that the royal wedding would take place May 19, 2018, in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The news came shortly after Google’s announcement that Markle had topped the year-end rankings for most searched actress for the second year in a row, finishing only behind fired TV personality Matt Lauer for 2017’s most Googled person. On December 21, fans found another reason to hit their search engines with the release of the couple’s official portrait photographs.
In January 2018, it was confirmed that Markle was adhering to royal tradition by shutting down her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Through Kensington Palace, Markle said she was “grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years.”
On February 10, more details about the royal wedding emerged: After the marriage ceremony, scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. U.K. time, the newlyweds will ride in a carriage along the High Street through Windsor Town, before returning to Windsor Castle along the Long Walk. Later, following an afternoon break, Prince Charles will host a private evening reception.
It will be great to visit London as a tourist during the royal wedding (May 19) and watch the newly wed ride along the High street through Windsor Town. Thankfully, Travelstart has cheap flights from Lagos to London. A great day to be a tourist in London.

CODE OF DRESSING TO FOLLOW
ONE of the most exciting aspects of any wedding, especially a royal one, is the fashion. Watching what people wear, ‘ooh-ing’ and ‘ahh-ing’ over the hats is almost as good as watching the tiny little flower girls and page boys waddling down the aisle.
But with attending a royal wedding comes a great restriction. The most outlandish thing will likely be a hat given the plethora of codes and rules that one must abide by if they’re attending. After all, a royal wedding is built around tradition and decorum, and so you don’t want to be caught in a hat past 6pm (tiara time), or God forbid you wear wedges.
In honor of the most exciting day of the year (May 19) fast approaching, here are the rules that are strictly followed:
- It’s compulsory hats should be worn in church.
- The wedding dress will be made by a British designer to showcase local talent and give the economy a boost.
- Meghan’s bouquet will have MYRTLE aka “herb of love” in it.
- Prince Harry will be in a military garb.
- Nail polish must be neutral
- No wedges
- Nude tights should always be worn.
